Felix Bird
Felix Bird has composed more than a dozen original scores for film and television over the past decade. Born in the U.K. and now based in the United States, he works as a freelance composer. Among his credits are musical scores for the Emmy-winning TV series "How I Met Your Mother" and four seasons of ABC Family's "Greek" as well as "Switched At Birth," currently airing on ABC Family.
In addition, he composed the original score and main theme music for indie horror-comedy feature "Dick Night" and comedic web series "The Consultants," as well as the score and main theme music for Sci-Fi web series "Pioneer One." He has also written original music and scores for the likes of: TruTV's "Ski Patrol," History Channel's "Deep Sea Salvage," indie films "Koreatown" and "Sister's Keeper," and the Cinephonix Music Library.
Specializing in composing orchestral music with non-traditional elements, Felix was trained in Composition for Film at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA where he earned a BM in Film Music Composition.
After graduating from Berklee, he relocated to Los Angeles and worked for three years as assistant composer to John Swihart ("Napoleon Dynamite"), gaining extensive experience working on TV shows, commercials and various feature films, before launching Felix Bird Music.
Felix has a passion for classical music, as well as electronic music ("I love loud, noisy synths") and enjoys meshing unexpected elements in his compositions. He has been playing guitar since the age of 8, and today is an active member of the British Academy of Film and Television (BAFTA).
